Jerry Kreinbring’s Beettle bodied buggy at the 1979 Northwest Off-Road Vehicle show, Portland [Oregon] Expo center. Jerry owned Beettle Auto Haus Inc., and produced the Beetle bodies from the late 60’s into the late 90’s. The bodies featured a longer tail that covered the motor to better cope with the rainy winters of the North West and a captive cast aluminum windshield frame.
Jerry’s company is still going but changed the name to Autosport International Inc., in 1984 due to Volkswagen America disputing over the use of Beettle the name even though it was spelled differently. It was also advertised in old dune buggy magazines as the Tall Timber buggy.
