Marty Martindale with his Manx back when he was 16 or 17

So my dad decided that we could dune with our Manx, so I was enlisted to groove a pair of drag slicks that our little 1600 couldn’t spin. Getting out of deep bowls near Niland and Glamis took took some pretty stellar driving with that weak sauce. Later we added a stroker engine that Roger Smith at Peppertree had built, but in the end we put together a Corvair rail for the dunes which solved the problem. That’s me next to our Manx when I was probably 16 or 17 in Mammoth wash where we camped.
